Morbi, the most promising ceramic tiles manufacturing hub of India, is a city located in Saurashtra region of Gujarat. The city is a home to more then 350 ceramic products manufacturing units. The main products of this ceramic city are ceramic glazed wall tiles, ceramic glazed floor tiles,Polished porcelain floor tiles (vitrified tiles),porcelain tiles, sanitaryware, roofing tiles and mosaic tiles. Thus Morbi is a heart of ceramic industries in India. The industry manufactures more then 70% of total ceramic production in India.
A large number of small-scale Ceramic manufacturing units are also located around Thangadh. Thangadh, Wankaner and Morbi form the Ceramic triangle. These units also cater to export market (Middle East, African Countries, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, etc.). In the recent years Morbi has also became an important manufacturing outsourcing zone. Many leading ceramic companies like HR Johnson, Asian tiles and Somani Tiles are outsourcing their requirements from Morbi.
